The idea for Coliving Awards came about when we realised we needed to give visibility to the brightest minds of the coliving sector and celebrate their achievements. Our aim is to foster innovation within the sector by establishing benchmarks that will guide, inspire and push the boundaries of the coliving industry. To help elevate the standards for the next generation of real estate market players, Coliving Awards highlights disruptive solutions, state-of-the-art concepts and outstanding professionals that are pushing coliving forward.
With our awards ceremony, we are focusing on establishing coliving as an institutionalised, scalable and thriving real estate model. In 2022, the awards ceremony highlighted 15 categories, including::

In 2021, we set out to bring Coliving Awards to life by ideating and developing everything from scratch: from the physical awards, to the voting procedure, to the actual ceremony. Coliving Awards was a concept created amidst the pandemic with a lot of uncertainties of how best to host the actual awards ceremony and whether operators and other coliving industry players had the bandwidth to participate. The results showed that this was actually quite the priority for industry players and that many ended up applying with great enthusiasm and effort.
Coliving Awards 2021 was the first ever edition and was welcomed with great enthusiasm within the industry. The ceremony on the 6th of May revealed the final winners of 2021 and highlighted some of the best coliving projects in the industry. With over 100 submissions received, 74 companies participating and over 12500 votes on public polls, we believe we created the right platform to share, highlight and shed light onto the best-in-class coliving projects in the years to come.

Fast-forward to 2022, when the second edition of Coliving Awards was launched. Held on June 29th, 2022, at Kino Kosmos in Katowice, Poland, it took place during the World Urban Forum (WUF 11), which was organised by UN Habitat, City of Katowice & Polish Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy from June 26th to 30th. It was a remarkable moment and place to celebrate the forward-thinking industry players and innovative projects that shape the future of living for the better.
The awards ceremony was hosted in a hybrid format, with a capacity of over 350 people in-person at Kino Kosmos and a livestream to our wider global audience. The winners were announced to both our global audience online, as well as the attendees of the world’s premier conference in sustainable urbanism, WUF11.
It has only been 2 years since its establishment, but Coliving Awards has already reached thousands of members of the coliving community worldwide. We have established a benchmark and promote innovation within the industry by collaborating with high profile professionals and industry partners. Each edition we invite selected industry leading specialists to be a part of our jury panel or join us as partners and sponsors.
Moreover, Coliving Awards serves as a platform for the industry to stay up to date on the world’s latest shared living innovations, whether it be through interior design, proptech, user experience or discovering the ‘Coliving Operator of the Year’.
